It can seem defeating to have to supplement your vegan diet with anything. You might want to get all your nutrients from food.
The deal is, many meat eaters are B-12 deficient too.
We all used to get B-12 from soil (which is where our food grows and where livestock grazes!). Depending on the soil, there may be no or little B-12 for us. Today, livestockĀ are given B-12 supplements too because their pastures may not have enough B-12 in the soil. Even with this,Ā it might also be difficult for humans to absorb any or enough B-12 from meat.
So, if we are skipping the animals that are given the supplement, we must take it directly. Many meat eaters should take one too.
Deficiency can lead to:
- Weakness
- Digestion issues
- Depression
